Mold Decorating and Labeling

We have extensive experience with all types and sizes of custom plastic mold decorating and mold labeling and continue to develop specialized solutions with this technology for a wide range of industries and applications. These processes for decorating or labeling injection molded plastic parts or components during the plastic injection molding cycle. A preprinted label or decorated appliqué film is inserted in the open plastic injection mold and held in place via vacuum ports, electrostatic charge or other method. The plastic injection mold is then closed and the plastic resin is injected to mold the part, encapsulating the decoration or label permanently within the finished injection molded part.

Mold Color Calibration and Finishing

Color is a critical part of many plastic injection molded components, and molded-in color technology enables vibrant, long-lasting, high-quality color and finish without the cost or environmental concerns of painting or plating. With molded-in color technology, pre-colored plastic resins are used in the plastic injection molding process, so the molded part emerges in the specified color and finish. This process eliminates painting, plating or other finishing steps. The color is fully integrated into the component, eliminating quality issues due such as paint scratching or peeling.

Plastic Insert Molding

This plastic injection molding process is when thermoplastic material is molded around an insert piece or pieces that are placed in the plastic injection molding cavity, resulting in a single strongly bonded, integrated assembly, with the insert or inserts encapsulated by the plastic. Inserts can be metal, another plastic, ceramic or just about any substance that can withstand the plastic injection molding process.
